Isopure Protein Powder - My Review

A look at Isopure Low Carb Dutch Chocolate.

Since supplements are one of my pet peeves, I didn't hesitate to volunteer when asked if I wanted to review Isopure Low Carb, dutch chocolate flavor. The review is sponsored by NutritionFix - they were so kind to send me a 3lbs jug.

I am big fan of whey protein, I think its one of the best supplements you can buy and Isopure is one of the top brands in the field, so I was curious if the actual product would hold up to my expectations.

Lets look at the nutritional information first.

Amount per Serving (2 scoops).

220 Calories
1 g Fat, 50 g Protein, 3 g Carbohydrates. It has a complete amino acid profile (as whey protein should have) and comes with a high amount of BCAAs (about 20%). It has zero lactose, which makes it very gut friendly and is fortified with nutrients and vitamins. Nothing to dislike here, it can even be used in a pre-contest diet.

Best Chocolate type that I've tried so far and I don't even like chocolate flavors. I usually stick with vanilla, since that gives me more options as to what to add but this tastes like a chocolate milk shake. I used to make protein brownies as well as pancakes and gives a very nice taste to them.

It mixes well, but the only problem is that I was drinking, I notice that a some leftover crystals are left in the shaker. Not to worry though, the problem is easily solved by adding more water and just mixing again.

Its not a cheap protein but when buying protein, you have to consider the quality you are getting. A lower quality protein will save you money, but you wont be able to digest all the protein that's on the label, so that's a net loss. Plus, the taste will be worse and who wants to be stuck with 5 lbs of concrete?

Overall, its a very solid product that I can recommend to anyone, be it a seasoned competitor or just someone who wants to supplement their protein intake. It can be used during a bulk or while cutting. If you are an early am cardio person, this would be your muscle sparing protein drink, that wont bloat you.

'Til next time
