During the past week we’ve discussed a number of great links; on Google+, Twitter, the Forums and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
- Building Proteins : A team at Manchester University has successfully created an ‘artificial ribosome‘ – a tiny (just a few millionths of a millimetre) machine which mimics the movements of the ribosome (which builds proteins), but can make a whole lot more.
- Spit Test Improves Asthma Care : Whilst I’d love to see much more research (and a much larger study) into this area; it’s certainly a promising start.
- Eyewire : A collaborative videogame to solve a real-world problem : filling the gap between the fast capture of brain synapse images and the slow mapping of their 3D connections manually. MIT’s Nancy Duvergne Smith explains.
- The Neurotech Era : What does the future hold? I’d agree with this – we’re entering the Neurotech Era. Fantastic.
There were also a number of things discussed on the Straight to the Bar Community pages : powering games with physical activity, the Mio Alpha and a whole lot more. Swing by.
