During the past week we’ve discussed a number of great links; on Google+, Twitter, the ‘Paper’ and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
- Stir Kinetic Desk : This week we looked at yet more wearable devices (particularly the Myo), as well as the promise of ‘fitness tracking everywhere‘ in the form of the Stir Kinetic Desk. Somewhat on the expensive side, though a very interesting idea.
- Alzheimer’s Treatment Targeting Blood Vessels : The promising research surrounding Alzheimer’s continues. This we we look at a potential treatment using blood vessels, as well as the idea of growing neurons to repair damaged brains. Fantastic.
- Youth Sport Injuries May Lead to Adult Brain Disease : More information this week on brain injuries in sports. Of particular note : Repeated Blows to Head Linked to Brain Changes, Youth Sport Injuries May Lead to Adult Brain Disease and Former NFL Player’s Body Exhumed for Brain Study. Very interesting area.
- Predictions for 2014 : We’ve looked at some pretty incredible fitness-related technologies this year. Now it’s time to peer a short distance into the future – here are a few of the things I’d expect to see in 2014.
We also talked about Testing Vit D Levels Using Your ‘Phone, Fixing Complex Injuries Using 3D-Printed Implants and a whole lot more. Keep up with the world of Health & Fitness in the Straight to the Bar Community on Google+.
