During the past week we’ve discussed a number of great links; on Google+, Twitter, the Daily ‘Paper’ and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
- Tackling Air Pollution, and Avoiding the Peaks : The VW emissions scandal certainly put air pollution in the news this week, as did the ‘car free‘ day in central Paris. Also of note – research into the difference between walking on main roads and via the side streets. If you’re fortunate enough to walk to work, and to have the option of different routes; take the one furthest from the traffic. As this study shows, it can really make a difference.
- Replacement Joint Tissue : If you’ve ever been in need of some repair work in your knees/elbows/shoulders, take a look at this. A very interesting material for temporarily replacing join tissue.
- 3D-Printing of Human Tissue ‘Organoids‘ (for Drug Testing) : Very interesting approach.
- Potential Repair of Spinal Cord Injuries : Promising indeed.
- Walking Again After 5 Years of Paralysis : Fantastic.
We also talked about FDA approval of fitness wearables, Accelerating drug development using graphene oxide biosensors and a whole lot more. Keep up with the World of Health & Fitness in the Straight to the Bar Community on Google+.
