During the past week we’ve discussed a number of great links; on Google+, Twitter, Nuzzel The Daily ‘Paper’ and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
- Sensors to Watch For and Help Predict Falls : Great idea – suspect we’ll start seeing these in various hospitals/care homes/private residences reasonably soon (within the next 2-3 years).
- Vitamin D Protects Against Colds and Flu : Interesting – would love to see more on this.
- London’s ‘T-Charge‘ (a £10 Vehicle Pollution Charge) : Nice one. Hope it expands (both in area and scope) rapidly.
- Fasting Diet Lowers Risks for Major Diseases : Great to see the research on this – fascinating area. The incorporation of a low calorie, ‘fasting-mimicking‘ diet.
- Stefano Boeri’s ‘Forest Cities‘ : We’ve seen many different partial solutions for the general problem of air pollution : congestion charges, electric vehicles, powerful air filters and so on. This is perhaps my favourite – ‘Forest Cities‘. Love it.
We also talked about Head injuries and cricket, Testing Crispr with a hybrid mammoth-elephant embryo (prior to widespread use in humans) and a whole lot more. Keep up with the World of Health & Fitness in the Straight to the Bar Community on Google+.
