During the past week we’ve discussed a number of great links; on Google+, Twitter, Nuzzel The Daily ‘Paper’ and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
- Low-Cost Farm-in-a-Box : Shipping-container farming reaches price parity with land-based farms – ideal for use in many urban/war torn/disaster-hit areas. And on Mars of course.
- An Optical Device To Help Detect Cancers : Uses beams of light to grip and manipulate tiny objects – from within the bloodstream. Small enough to trap individual cells and diagnose cancer in its earliest stages.
- Improving Heart Health From The Very First Workout : Interesting review of the research – it seems that the benefits of exercise begin immediately.
- A Possible Gene Therapy Cure For Haemophilia A : Promising indeed. Looking forward to the results of the next round of (much larger) trials.
- Ketamine Used To Rapidly Reduce Suicidal Thoughts (In Depressed Patients) : Fantastic.
We also talked about Action games and the brain’s cognitive abilities, Temperature-regulating mugs (for coffee, beer, baby bottles etc) and a whole lot more. Keep up with the World of Health & Fitness in the Straight to the Bar Community on Google+.
