HELPING YOU GET STRONGER SINCE 2004

During the past week we’ve discussed a number of great links; on Facebook, Twitter, in The Daily ‘Paper’ and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
  • Brain Implant To Convert Thoughts Into Words : A patient with paralysis in this particular case, though the potential is far beyond that.
  • Questionnaire To Help Identify Autism In Children As Young As 18 Months : Early diagnosis makes early interventions possible. Wonderful.
  • Reducing Sensitivity To Physical Pain Reduces Pain Empathy Toward Others : It hurts to see others suffer.
  • Brain Mapping Technology Can Now Predict The Course Of Recovery In Patients Who Have Had Strokes : Nice one.
  • France Considering Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccinations For Everyone : An interesting mix of carrot & stick : people have to show that they are either vaccinated or that they recently tested negative for the virus in order to enter cafés, restaurants, cinemas, high-speed trains or shopping malls. In the Autumn, coronavirus tests will no longer be free. NB : several countries already mandate vaccinations for healthcare workers, and those who work in aged care homes.
We also talked about Mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations, Overweight GPs giving weight loss advice to patients and a whole lot more. Keep up with the World of Health & Fitness on this site, and in the Straight to the Bar pages on Facebook, Twitter and in The Daily ‘Paper’. Absolutely free.
NB : If you’re stuck at home for a while, you may be re-considering the many benefits of having a home gym. To learn how to put one together (and see the specific items we recommend), swing by the full Guide.

Over to you. Drop us a line on Twitter ( @scottbird ), or add a comment below.

Cheers.

NB : if you love talking about strength-training as much as I do, you might also like to check out the weekly newsletter (there's also a daily version available). A regular dose of fitness-focussed discussions, absolutely free.
