During the past week we’ve discussed a number of great links; on Facebook, Twitter, in The Daily ‘Paper’ and so on. Here are a few of my favourites.
- Gene Therapy Generates New Neurons To Treat Several Neurological Conditions (In Mice, For Now), The First Being Huntington’s Disease : Promising indeed.
- Can Humans Defeat Ageing? (Aubrey de Grey Interview With The Daily Express) : Fascinating look at the idea of living for a very, very long time. And yes, I agree entirely with de Grey’s overarching thesis.
- Exercise In People Over 85 : ‘Advanced age is no barrier to the benefits of tailored exercise‘. Absolutely.
- 114 Year-Old Cells Converted To Pluripotent Stem Cells : It’s starting to look as though there’s no upper age limit for reprogramming cellular aging, at least up to 114 years.
- Brain Scans Used To ‘Read Minds‘ Of Intensive Care Patients : Interpreting the wishes of a patient following a severe brain injury.
We also talked about Coronavirus cancellations continue (sporting events, various conferences, possibly the Tokyo Olympics), The first cryonics storage facility in the southern hemisphere (Holbrook, NSW, Australia) and a whole lot more. Keep up with the World of Health & Fitness on this site, and in the Straight to the Bar pages on Facebook, Twitter and in The Daily ‘Paper’. Absolutely free.
