This week – Incredible World Records.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been interested in the many ways in which people push themselves to the limit – run the fastest, lift the most weight and generally hold on longer than anyone else.
Here are just a few of the incredible world records we’ve seen set – and broken – over the years :
- Race to the 1,000lb Bench Press
Powerlifting boundaries have been getting pushed further back for decades, including a contest we started looking at in 2004. Gene Rychlak was the first one there (video below). - Mark Felix with 282.5lb on the Rolling Thunder
Mark Felix lit up the grip world in 2007 as he inched closer to pulling 300lb (one-handed) using a Rolling Thunder. Here he is in action working with an incredible 282.5lb. - Chad Netherland’s 10th Guinness World Record
Chad Netherland breaks his 10th world record with a superb strength feat, the Human Link. - Circumnavigation Cycling Record Smashed
Around the world in 195 days. Nice one. - Paddy Doyle Continues Breaking Records
Finally, the indomitable Paddy Doyle. Record-breaking machine.
